About The Role

The Principal Inside Plant Engineer - Day 2 Operations is a senior technical leader responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of critical infrastructure at ILA sites, focusing on Day 2 operations and beyond.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures for Day 2 operations, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of ILA site infrastructure
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, security, and engineering to ensure smooth ILA site operations
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for ILA site operations, including capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge bases
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to improve ILA site operations and efficiency
 
Critical Infrastructure Responsibilities:
  • Power: Ensure reliable and efficient operation of UPS systems, backup power generation systems, PDUs, ATS, and power monitoring and management systems
  • HVAC: Ensure proper functioning of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, cooling systems, humidity control systems, and air quality monitoring and management systems
  • Site Communication: Ensure reliable and secure communication systems, including fiber optic connectivity, Ethernet networks, wireless communication systems, and network routers and switches
  • Site Security: Ensure secure access control systems, surveillance cameras, motion detection systems, intrusion detection systems, and security monitoring and management systems
  • Site Access: Ensure secure and controlled access to ILA sites, including gates, doors, mantraps, fencing, and vehicle access control systems

About You

Key Skills:
  • solid experience in ISP engineering, with focus on Day 2 operations and ILA sites
  • Strong knowledge of optical networking, amplification, and transmission systems
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  • Experience with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
