About The Role

Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, the H&S Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment. The role will be working direct with one of our key customers. Provide guidance and support to management and employees to minimize workplace hazards, prevent accidents, and protect the health and well-being of all staff. The role will be predominately Dublin based but will require field based visits around Ireland with the option of hybrid working for administrative duties.
 
Some key responsibilities for the successful candidate will include: 
•            Assist the customer with general SHEQ administration including:
•            Tender and Pre-Qualification Questionnaires
•            Update of SHEQ registers and trackers
•            Maintenance of their Business Management System to support company certification (ISO, Safecontractor etc.).
       Inspection and tracking of all H&S documents and policies .
•            Assisting project teams with the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
•            Assisting project teams with the development and maintenance of Qualified Persons Lists (QPL)
•            Completing accident/incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions.
•            Attending SHEQ meetings and joint site visits as required.

About You

Full Driving License Required - Dublin based
 
• Min. 3-5 years’ experience in a similar SHEQ role
• HDip Safety Health and Welfare at Work. Desirable would be IOSH Membership (Chartered or Technical)
• Preference for an Engineering / Construction background
• Extensive knowledge of SHEQ legislation.
• Extensive knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Excellent oral and written communicator.
• Good training skills and ability for public speaking.
• Ability to work as part of an senior management team.
• Ability to work on own initiative and deliver key objectives.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Ability to positively influence others within your team and the wider company in respect to SHEQ matters.
• Previous experience in telecommunications or related field an advantage.
• PC literate, especially Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint. Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Willingness and ability to pick up new systems quickly.
• Excellent standard of written and spoken English. Other language skills an advantage.
• Excellent telephone manner.
• Self-motivated and able to work to own initiative.
• Ability to effectively manage own time and workload.
• Flexible approach to the role, with the ability to adapt and react to business needs
