About The Role

Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, the SHEQ Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment within Indigo. Providing guidance and support to management and employees to minimize workplace hazards, prevent accidents, and protect the health and well-being of all staff. The role will be predominately field based within the UK with the option of hybrid working for administrative duties.
 
What you'll do: 
Onsite auditing and site inspection of Indigo and subcontracting teams.
Conducting toolbox talks and safety related training and awareness for Indigo staff and subcontractors.
Assisting project teams with the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Assisting project teams with the development and maintenance of Qualified Persons Lists (QPL)
Completing accident/incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions.
Attending client SHEQ meetings and joint Client/Indigo site visits as required.
Assist with general SHEQ administration, including completion of tender and pre-qualification questionnaires, maintaining SHEQ registers/trackers, and supporting the ongoing maintenance of Indigo's Business Management System to ensure compliance with company certifications

About You

What we are looking for:

Previous SHEQ experience required. Internal training and development will be provided.
Fluent in written and spoken English
Must be well organised and able to prioritise and manage multiple requests and activities concurrently.
Strong communicator with the ability to work with, and support a diverse team of professionals.
Thorough attention to detail.
Relevant commercial qualification/EHS
IT literate/Excel/Outlook administration (Salesforce/Jotform).
Ability to take ownership of an issue and see things through to the end.
 
Full Driving License Required -  This is a remote role with travel to our Magor office required 1-2 times per month. Typically you'd work from home one day a week, and travel to our customer sites across the UK. We will provide you with a work van.
 
Desirable:

Telecommunication experience.
Data centre, Fire safety and Building facility management/audit awareness.
NEBOSH/IOSH Certification
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
