About The Role

Home based within the US with regular visits to our Indigo and customer sites within the region, and occasional visits to sites and offices outside of the region.(Note this role can be office based if located near an Indigo office)
 
As the Commercial Manager NASA and Canada, you will be responsible for driving the commercial strategy and performance in these regions. You will work closely with the Group Commercial Director to develop and execute plans that align with our global objectives.
Your primary focus will be:
• Pricing and responding to bids to ensure all new opportunities are both competitive and will deliver the right commercial return for Indigo
• Identifying and managing risks within our commercial bids and contracts
• Seeking to improve business processes to minimise risks and maximise efficiencies.
• Understanding and managing contractual requirements
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
• Partnering with the Sales team to respond to and price all assigned new opportunities for either new or existing customers
• Gathering commercial information from across Indigo (including operations, resourcing SHEQ etc) to create the best possible commercial model that meets both the customer needs and delivers a return for Indigo.
• Relentless focus on margin delivery and profitability in all our work
• Ensuring all commercial risks and considered and mitigated in sales bids
• Ensuring all new bids go through the appropriate governance process for approval and sign off
• Making sure our bids represent the best of Indigo and are professionally executed and presented in a timely fashion
• Bringing your deep understanding of the telecoms sector into every aspect of our sales process to ensure our bids are commercially competitive and realistic
• Partnering with sales and legal on customer contract negotiations, highlighting and mitigating any risks.
• Supporting contract review/renewal discussions to find new and innovative ways to deliver for the customer and improve margin for Indigo
• Supporting operational margin review processes for in-life business to drive solutions for commercial improvements
• Establish and maintain excellent working internal relationships.
• Comply with company and local standards, procedures and protocols
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, both externally and internally and support the adoption of the company corporate culture.
• Comply and work with the company with regards to Health and Safety.

About You

 
• Prior experience in working in a Telecoms commercial role
• Good understanding of networks, connectivity and infrastructure.
• Good understanding of Managed network and FLM proposition / structure.
• Good understanding of the competitive market – network managed service providers / FLM providers.
• Ability to very quickly translate quotes and scopes to operational requirements.
• Works at pace
• Excellent facilitator of internal stakeholders- knows how to bring the right people together to move things forward and get the job done
• Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to work with, and be respected by both peers and other stakeholders
• Excellent presentation skills and self-assured in contact with customers and internal resources.
• A self-starter, requiring little or no supervision with a positive attitude and outlook.
• Ability to take ownership of an issue and see things through to the end.
• Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate many activities simultaneously.
• Trustworthy and honest; implicit in the employment contract.
• Able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with people at all levels.
• A strong understanding of the importance of health, safety, compliance and governance procedures.
• Professional and confident – representing Indigo positively at all times.
• Able to work independently, set and manage own priorities to deliver results.
• PC literate, especially Microsoft Office suite
