As a Senior Field Engineer, you will drive continuous performance improvement and support top-tier engineering infrastructure and technical services for our customers and end clients through highly skilled and competent teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Deployment & Maintenance: Lead field deployment and first-line maintenance support for a diverse customer base, ensuring timely responses and adherence to SLAs.
Technical Leadership: Provide advanced technical support, fault finding, and hardware replacement, while upholding Indigo’s Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
Installation & Commissioning: Execute installation and commissioning duties in both project and maintenance environments, including metalwork, fibre, and cable management.
Team Supervision: Supervise internal and external team members, ensuring high-quality installation standards and risk management.
Customer Interaction: Maintain excellent working relationships with customers, providing regular updates and feedback to line managers and project managers.
Documentation & Reporting: Complete and submit all necessary paperwork and documentation within SLA, and produce high-quality project documentation.
Training & Development: Provide hands-on training and coaching through lab workshops, and develop fault diagnosis skills using advanced testing procedures.
Health & Safety Compliance: Perform and manage HSE and SVSA inspections, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Technical Responsibilities:
Fault Finding: Lead in resolving complex technical problems, utilizing OTDR and Ethernet/OSA testing procedures.
Network Commissioning: Skilled in network commissioning, test and fault finding, and providing leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
Installation Expertise: Experienced in installing and commissioning equipment from Nokia, Juniper, Huawei, Tellabs, Infinera, and Ciena, with in-depth knowledge of networking and optical transmission systems.
Cable Management: Perform fibre and cable pulling, dressing, labelling, and securing, as well as copper cable termination including Cat "x" and E1 terminations.
Electrical Connectivity: Handle electrical connectivity of 240v AC plug & play and -48v DC to distribution panels (no power up until certification).
Quality Audits: Provide field installation quality audit services, planning and monitoring rectification works and improvement plans.
Risk Management: Control and manage Risk Assessment Method Statement documentation.
