As our Business People Partner in Ireland you’ll provide a full partnering service to a defined internal customer group, contribute to the development and execution of the Global People Strategy for Indigo, and take accountability of cross business people initiatives, functions and projects as agreed with the CPO. This will include representing these at a senior level and line management of others in the team with responsibility for these functions as required.

Principle Accountabilities / Objectives:

  • To ensure the People function delivers an excellent service that truly adds value to Indigo as a business and to all our colleagues
  • Using all aspects of the role and your experience to drive Indigo’s success
  • Partnering with the business to create an environment where the most talented people from all communities want to join the company and continue to work
  • Using all the people tools available to drive a positive and high performing culture at Indigo
 Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong, trusted partnership relationships with the leaders in your business areas
  • Develop people solutions and action plans to support business objectives
  • Getting to know the people within your business areas. Understanding what it is like to ‘walk in their’ shoes so you can bring their perspectives into the people strategy and annual plans
  • Employee Relations:
    • Provide support on all employee relations cases in your business area
    • Supporting the business with commercial and risk-based decision making when dealing with all People matters
  • Oversee global operations from a people perspective within your customer base, ensuring we are compliant with national/international employment law. This will involve:
    • Drawing on your own knowledge, qualifications and experience – and that of your colleagues
    • Utilising available tools and information- keeping up to date with relevant changes
    • The development of strong relationships with legal advisors as needed
    • Interpreting legal advice and advising the business on how to implement it
    • Escalating to the CPO and other colleagues for support as required
  • Proactive performance management:
    • Proactively identifying performance issues and ensuring a plan is in place to resolve these
    • Supporting managers to prepare and deliver effective performance reviews (using the Company My Success Plan framework) – this includes running calibration sessions to ensure consistency in approach
    • Supporting managers with informal performance discussions and formal performance improvement processes
  • Recruitment support:
    • Supporting the Recruitment Manager with recruitment activities as required
    • Deputising for the Recruitment Manager during periods of leave
  • Proactive talent management
    • Analysing performance management data and ensuring that appropriate follow up actions are taken to progress talent in the organisation
    • Partnering with the business to create clear career pathways in the organisation and developing succession plans
  • Learning and Development
    • Proactively identifying training needs within your business areas and developing/implementing solutions to meet these needs (using existing Company resources or recommending alternatives)
    • Supporting the design, delivery and review of operational technical training pathways and frameworks as required
  • Lead the people elements of any significant change programmes within your business areas (for example, organisation design changes)
  • Partnering with business leaders and managers to facilitate all people initiatives. For example: their understanding of the people survey results and associated action planning or contributing to sales bids and customer engagements
  • Supporting People administration including checking contracts, ensuring payroll changes are implemented and making sure everything is running smoothly
  • Leading projects for the People function as required
  • Role model a strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing
  • Role model positive behaviours and actions in line with Indigo’s values
  • Accountability for People Engagement activities and Internal Communications, including leading the DEI Committee
  • Analysing and reporting on data from the annual People Survey and bi-annual Pulse Survey
  • Supporting Indigo’s ESG strategy
  • Accountability for the Employee Wellbeing Strategy
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Limerick office, providing onsite support and managing ad‑hoc administrative tasks including post handling, office supplies/stock ordering, and general coordination needs.

 

About You

We’re seeking an experienced People professional who brings both depth of expertise and genuine passion for supporting colleagues and leaders. You’ll thrive in a senior‑level role, combining strong professional judgement with the confidence to operate independently and influence at all levels of the organisation.

You will bring:

  • Significant senior-level experience operating as a trusted People/HR partner within a fast‑paced, complex organisation.
  • Broad People generalist expertise, underpinned by relevant qualifications and a track record of delivering high‑quality outcomes.
  • Strong employee relations capability, with the confidence to independently manage complex and sensitive cases—often across multiple countries—including seeking, interpreting, and translating legal advice.
  • A strong understanding of Irish employment law, with additional experience supporting People activities across the UK, Europe and the US desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and diplomacy skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and guide leaders through challenging situations.
  • A pragmatic balance of strategic and hands‑on working, comfortable shaping people strategy while also rolling up your sleeves to support day‑to‑day operations.
  • Experience designing, developing and implementing People policies and processes that add value and support organisational goals.
  • Powerful data analysis skills, using insights to inform decisions, identify trends and support continuous improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and empathetically to diverse audiences.
  • Strong MS Office and SharePoint capabilities to support high‑quality documentation, reporting and collaboration.
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, maintaining high standards and a calm, solution‑focused approach.
  • Experience navigating difficult conversations, with the ability to coach, support and guide others through sensitive or complex situations.
  • Coaching, mentoring, facilitation and mediation skills that help you unlock potential and resolve conflict constructively.

Working Environment

This is a hybrid role with Limerick, Ireland as the contracted base location. We expect colleagues to work from the Limerick office 2–3 days per week, with flexibility to work from home in line with business needs and the nature of activities scheduled on any given day. From time to time, there may be a requirement to travel to our UK Head Office.
